I would describe my design style as Functional, haha as boring as that sounds. There isn't too much in our house that doesn't have a function, maybe the odd doo dad but there's not too much that's just for show :) and even the few items that are just for show, make us smile so it functions that way!
Maybe Simply Functional, But if it's there for a function I try to make it as pretty as it can be

0 My Favorite Online Fabric Stores

Yesterday I got an email from a reader requesting some of my favorite online fabric sources. I thought I would share a few of them with you here on my blog!

Fabric.com is amazing. It's hard to navigate through so it helps to know the exact product name so you can type it in the search bar. They carry a good selection of Dwell Studio fabrics. They also carry Premier Prints fabrics at a lower price than Premier Prints carries them. The important thing to remember with Fabric.com is that a lot of their fabric is damaged slightly which is why they can get it for such a great deal. 

Most of the fabric carried at Premier Prints is less than $10 a yard. They have some great prints and I often recommend them to clients for curtains because curtains require a lot of yardage. 

L & S Fabrics have a really good selection. I like that they carry a lot of Duralee fabrics because they are sometimes hard to find online. 

I really love Calico Corners but I find that most of their fabrics are a little over-priced so you need to be careful. I always shop around first just to make sure I can't find it cheaper somewhere else. They also carry a lot of Duralee Fabrics and they just started carrying Dwell Studio. 

Spoonflower has really great graphic and geometric prints. And if you don't find what you are looking for you can always create it yourself! 

Jo-ann has always had a great selection of Robert Allen and Waverly Fabrics. They often have sales too so I wouldn't put an order in unless the fabric is on sale. 

These are all of my favorite online sources that anyone can shop at. There are also many amazing designer fabrics that are out there. These are sold to the trade only but you can get them through a designer. Just let me know if you're interested in any.

I ordered a few prints from Plum Street Prints and I just love them! This temple print is perfect for Jett's room.

I also thought this Salt Lake Neighborhood map was cute.

0 Nursery Before and After

That same wonderful client who I featured last week also had a nursery she needed help with. She had two boys and was finally having her first girl! 

The before picture isn't very great but you can see that she had blue walls and she really needed some new window treatments. 

Here is the board I created for her. 

And here is the after! 

The walls were painted with a tone-on-tone pink stripe. So the same color but she did one with a high-gloss paint to give it some sheen. 

I love this artwork by Sarah Jane Studios. This sweet grouping is perfect for the room. 

The chandelier is from Pottery Barn Kids as well as the bedding.

The curtains were tricky to nail down. We didn't have a lot of money but we wanted something that tied in the bedding and that had a bit of blue in it. We ended up going with this fabric. 

My client also had a beautiful ornate mirror that she painted white and hung over the changing table. 

The dresser got some pretty crystal knobs. 

I feel like this little nursery is exactly as we wanted it to be.

0 Sale Recap and Other Stuff

Yesterday's sale was so much fun! It was a crazy day but it was so great to meet Caitlin Wilson and hang out with Caitlin Creer. Thanks to everyone who came. I know it was super short notice so we were so grateful to those who could make it. 

I still have a LOT of stuff left over so I'm going to be selling it on my blog next week. Get excited... 

In other news I wanted to share two guest posts that I've done recently with you. 

The first is some snippets of my kitchen on A Diary of Lovely. 

And most recently I did a guest post for Emily A. Clark that I just loved. 

I showed some pictures of our old apartment. I CAN NOT believe how far I've come. Crazy. Check it out here!

You know those blogs that just make you instantly happy? Well that is how I feel about the blog Brightsides.  Amelia is full of optimism and she is also an amazing photographer. Her blog is bright, cheerful and colorful. When asked to describe her style here is what she said: 

I would say my design style is: traditional with a modern touch.  Less is more in my opinion.  Clean lines, and simple, uncluttered rooms always attract my attention.

I was going for a fun, vibrant feel, but comfortable and crisp at the same time (if that even makes sense lol ) for our main living spaces;  hence the stripes, bold colors, and patterns.  I know I can't afford to re-decorate frequently, so I tend to shy away from trendy furniture, but like to style with a few hip and fresh accessories.

Amelia made that print herself in photoshop. So cool.
