Cresthaven Kid's Room

By Unknown | At 4:00 AM | Label : , , , | 0 Comments

I can't believe I am posting the last room in the model home! It's been so fun to share this home with you. For a look at the past room reveals go here

Today I'm sharing my favorite room. The budget for the kids' room was $1,000 and I think we came in under budget! It was actually pretty easy to stick to the budget with this room because we didn't need a lot of furniture. And the furniture that we did use we got for a great deal.

Here is the board I created for the room.

I wanted the room to feel gender neutral. There are elements that are a little more "boy" and elements that could be translated as "girl". This scheme would work well for a shared bedroom.

Here is how the room turned out!

Striped Duvet: West Elm
Metal Red Headboard: This was a great find on Craigslist. I think we got it for around $15.

Paint Color: Benjamin Moore Del Mar Blue

Dream Big Pillow: Robin and Mould on Etsy
Chevron Pillow: I used the leftover fabric from Jett's headboard for this pillow. The pillow was sewn by Local Utah Seamstress Alli Middleton alliemp07@live.com

Red Lamp: Target
Be Nice Print: Sarah Jane Studios
Toy: Home Again Consignment
Nightstand: I found this at Savers over a year ago for $15! I've been saving it and saving it for something and I love how it looks in this kid's room. We just gave it a fresh coat of white paint.

Bird Mobile: Donated by Annie's Mobile Boutique

ABC Letters: These were Christmas ornaments from Anthropologie that I got after Christmas for $2 a piece! I just took the ornament hooks off.

To me the real star of the room is the roman shade. This was our "splurge" in the room. The fabric is Arbre Chinoise in Meadow by Schumacher

Rocking Chair: Vinnie White Cradle Chair from Overstock
Goldfish Pillow: Digs
Stacking Boxes: I bought these at Serena and Lily on sale for $30 but they are no longer available.

Green Stool: Home Again Consignment

Thank you for all your comments and support with this home. It was a really fun experience for me. There are a lot of things that made it hard. Being sick during my first trimester really put the project on hold for a few months. It was such a great feeling to finally finish the project. Some days I thought it would never get done!

I also have to say that I could never have completed this without my amazing interns. Thanks to Haley, Kayley and Carly for their help with the home.

And also the wonderful Jylare for taking all the pictures!

Cresthaven Bathrooms and Hallways

By Unknown | At 4:00 AM | Label : , | 0 Comments

I have so far revealed the Living RoomDining RoomBasement and Master Bedroom and Office from the model home. Today I am sharing the little spaces like the hallways and bathrooms.

One of the biggest challenges with this home was the very long and narrow entry hallway. It  felt too narrow to squeeze a console table in or any other piece of furniture. The other challenge was the budget. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on art and I knew the art had to be big! So I decided to frame wallpaper.

This isn't a new idea by any means but it's the first time I've actually ever done it in a space.

The wallpaper I chose is Schumacher's Birds and Butterflies. It's one of my favorites. The wallpaper was framed in simple Ikea ribba frames

The art is cheerful and fills up the hallway perfectly.

We kept the downstairs powder bathroom really simple.

Photographs: Donated by Aldari Art Studio

Next up we have the kid's bathroom.

Bathmat: From West Elm. It doesn't look like it is available any longer.
Shower Curtain: Stripe Shower Curtain from West Elm

Butterfly Art: Taken from this book

Chevron Tray: Donated by Honeymoon at Home
Hand Towel: Painterly Floral Printed Bath Towel from World Market

For the master bathroom I added a few touches of color but we mostly left it light and bright.

Shower Curtain: West Elm, it doesn't appear to be available anymore.

Apothecary Jars: World Market
Tray and Small Jar: Target
Pink Perfumes: Donated by Roxana Illuminated Perfume

Stay tuned next week for the the last reveal in the model home. It's my favorite!

Cresthaven Office

By Unknown | At 4:00 AM | Label : , , | 0 Comments
I have so far revealed the Living Room, Dining Room, Basement and Master Bedroom from the model home. Today I am sharing the office.

The budget for the office was $1,100. I think I went over about $100 on this room. I wanted to create a room that was over all gender neutral but I added a few feminine touches here and there. I kind of imagine this being a space that a husband and wife share together. I also wanted this room to have a very "collected" look as opposed to a very "decorated" look.

Here is the initial board I created for the room.

Here is how the room turned out!

Cresthaven Master Bedroom

By Unknown | At 4:00 AM | Label : , , , , | 0 Comments

So far I've shared the Living Room, Dining Room and Basement that I designed for the model home. Today I'm sharing the Master Bedroom with you.

I love designing bedrooms so I was pretty excited about doing the Master Bedroom. Here is the board I created for the room.

Our budget was $1,500 for this room. This is wasn't a lot considering we needed a bed, dresser and two nightstands plus all the extra stuff!

The inspiration for this room was really centered around the Arianne duvet cover from Pottery Barn. I loved the colors in it.

I actually bought one queen duvet cover and had Kristen from Blue Spindle cut it up to make two decorative pillows for the bed as well as curtains. One queen size duvet really goes along way! For $149 plus the cost of sewing we got 2 curtain panels and 2 throw pillows.

One of the biggest challenges in this room was finding a bed in the budget. I knew I wanted an upholstered bed and preferably a fully upholstered bed not just the headboard.

I stumbled across this Costco Nailbutton Upholstered Bed  for around $600 and I knew it was the one! (We ordered the queen but it doesn't look like that size is available anymore).

Sunburst Mirror: $25 on sale at Hobby Lobby

Greek Key Sham: Jennifer Lopez Shams from Kohl's (The shams are from this collection but it doesn't seem like they are available anymore.)
Floral Pillows: Made from the Arianne Queen Duvet Cover from Pottery Barn. Sewn by Blue Spindle.
Tan Lumbar: Blue Spindle
White Duvet Cover: I found this Pearl Embroidered Duvet Cover from Pottery Barn on sale at DownEast for $25.

Nightstands can be SO expensive so we tried to get creative and stay within the budget. We bought the Rast Chest from Ikea and had it painted blue. Then we ordered 12 of these  from O'verlays and I spray painted them gold. The hardware is from here
Lamps: Hobby Lobby
Plant: Target

Curtains: Made from the Arianne Queen Duvet Cover from Pottery Barn. Sewn by Blue Spindle
Pink Quilt: Punch Diamond Quilt from Serena and Lily

Dresser: Hemnes Dresser from Ikea
For artwork above the dresser I framed this paper from Paper Mojo.

Love Print: Donated by Good Girl Gone Glad

Rose Print: I cut this out of an old Snow and Graham calender I had.

Watercolor Floral Print: Birds of Ashmae
Floral Vase: Anemone Mezzo Vase from Anthropologie

Paint color is Hazy Skies by Benjamin Moore
