Why I Love Living in Daybreak & The New Lake Village

By Unknown | At 4:00 AM | Label : | 0 Comments

If you follow me on instagram (@kirstenkrason) you are probably used to seeing snippets of life in my neighborhood of Daybreak.  All of the above pictures were taken right in my neighborhood.  We have lived here for 5  years and have loved every second of it.  It's amazing for kids and even adults who are young at heart! With walking trails, tennis and volleyball courts, multiple parks, a lake, beaches, boats, a pool and great shopping you literally never need to leave!

Plus the houses are adorable.

Right now Daybreak is opening up a new area for new homes called Lake Village. They had a few bloggers out for a day of fun including myself, Marianne from White + Gold Design, Jen from With Heart and Desiree from the 36th Avenue

We had a blast experiencing the new Lake Village

You are literally seconds away from the lake and from doing this...

.... and having lake side chats on your front porch with your friends like this...

There is also an amazing new park up the street where you can find all kinds of adventures.

And amazing shopping right down the road...

Which you could actually just ride your bike to...

I am not kidding you. This neighborhood is amazing and Lake Village is where it's at!

If you want another look at the views from Lake Village check out this amazing dinner we attended last week right on the lake.

Each of us bloggers will be designing a virtual dream home within Lake Village. I can't wait to show you what my dream lake house will look like! Don't forget to follow along with the other bloggers as well! They are all super talented.

Nautical Playroom Design Plan

By Unknown | At 4:00 AM | Label : , | 0 Comments
We have slowly been transforming our clients house one room at a time. We started with her son's nursery and then moved on to her youngest daughter's room and her oldest daughter's room.  The next stop was the playroom!

The room started out as a blank slate and just needed furniture and accessories to finish it up! With any kids space you face the same challenges. We wanted it to be whimsical and playful but also a space that could grow with them as they got older.  We wanted it to be classic and sophisticated but not too stuffy and grown up. It needed to be a place that felt inviting to play in! We also needed it to be gender neutral since she has a boy and two girls.  The family has lived in Hawaii and has a special place in their heart for the islands. We wanted to bring a subtle nautical and ocean feel in to the space.  Here is the board that we came up with.

We knew we wanted to make the window seats feel special so we decided to make each one a reading nook with a library and lots of fun pillows. We were totally inspired by this reading nook that Caitlin designed.

We didn't  have the amazing built-ins that she had so we decided to go with floating bookshelves instead. Similar to this look:

We weren't doing any window treatments in the space so we wanted to bring in some pattern with the window seat cushions.

We chose this fun diamond fabric from Serena and Lily!

We wanted to add some whimsical nautical art between the two window seats and we wanted it to be a statement piece so we chose the Go to it Laughing print from Minted.

In addition we also picked these two prints from Minted to bring in the aqua color.

In addition to bringing in teal with the artwork we decided to bring it in with this rug:

Our client's kids LOVE to draw and make beautiful artwork so we knew we'd want an art station that could double as a school area.  We bought the hanging system from Ikea to create something like this:

The window benches do open up to create toy storage but for easy access we sourced these large rope bin baskets:

We also found a great media piece that had lots of bins and drawers.

Tribeca Media Storage

The room turned out SO cute and I can't wait to share it with you!

I'll be posting the reveal pictures on Thursday so stay tuned! But in the meantime here's a sneak peak to get you excited!

Chrome Gold Ferrari 458 Spider

By Unknown | At 3:46 AM | Label : | 0 Comments
A Ferrari 458 Spider may certainly not be the rarest car in London but a completely golden 458 is a rarity even in the British capital. Anyone who has seen this vehicle can claim to have seen one of the most exotic cars in Europe.

But who drives such a dream car?

Our friends at Exotic Street Stars has met the Kick boxing champion Riyadh Al Azzawi with his Golden super car in London and witnessed some interesting things about the young Iraqi.

Having loved all forms of martial arts from a young age, Riyadh Al Azzawi took on kick boxing in his early teenage years. With the words of his trainer saying you will become a WORLD champion one day. This lead to him being Iraq’s Nation Champion SIX times, Arabic Champion TWICE, before he moved shores to the UK. Within only a few fights in the UK he won the British Championship TWICE, then taking home the European title. There was no stopping Riyadh, and winning his first World Championship Belt in 2008. He has fought 5 times for the World Championship belt with four out of the five wins coming by KO.

The most memorable moment of the champion’s career was doctors wanting to stop his world championship fight due to him having broken his nose and hand. However, being a champion means no stopping and he carried on to win. This shows his Incredible record of 47-0, 35 of which by way of Knockout.

Riyadh Al Azzawi, has a number of cars with Ferrari’s being his favourite, having the GOLD 458 Spider, California and previously having the F430. However, no boxer can go without a 4×4 and Mr Al Azzawi has a Mercedes G Class for that category. The 4.5 litre V8, 0-62mph in 3.4 second Ferrari 458 Spider was ordered with his preferred specifications; one which being left hand drive (as the UK is right) and the beautiful immaculate red Italian interior. The original grey body work has been wrapped in gold; this was chosen as only champions get to wear gold. The driving style preferred by Riyadh is chilled and this showed when cruising through London’s famous Knightsbridge, thousands of eyes were glazed to the car, with hundreds coming over for photo opportunities. With Riyadh stopping to allow people to see the car and even pose with fans. His love for his Ferrari meant that even when a friend offered him to swap his Ferrari for a Bugatti he refused, stating that he has Ferrari over anything due to them being similar to him in being fast and strong. Even by choosing the plate number, Riyadh doesn’t leave it to chance. He’s choosen the exclusive digits „F1 1RAK“, which stand for Fi Irak and mean „In Irak“ in arabic.

Riyadh’s future plans are to remain concentrated on his career as he sees that without having a successful career and without achieving you cannot enjoy the life style. So from a champions point of view, SUCCESS will bring you the lifestyle you want. In Riyadh’s case his fighting is the most important.
