Bedroom Before and After

By Unknown | At 4:00 AM | Label : , | 0 Comments

When I first saw my client's bedroom I didn't think it looked too bad. She had an Anthropologie quilt and bedskirt that were super colorful and fun. But the bedroom just didn't feel like she wanted it too. She was tired of her old stuff and she wanted something much more peaceful and calm feeling.

Here is the moodboard I created and here is how it looks now!

It's much more serene and peaceful than it was before. There was a tight budget on this room so I tried to make our dollars stretch. The lamps and artwork are from Home Goods.

The headboard was made by my seamstress Erin. The Euro shams are from Pottery Barn and the yellow pillows are done by Erin in one of my very favorite fabrics, Bleeker. The coral pillow in front is to the trade and is from Villa Home. We also changed out the wall color to a much calmer blue.

I have a huge stockpile of fabric that I've been meaning to get rid of as well as other leftovers from client projects. So I'm joining forces with the amazing Caitlin Wilson this Friday for a little remnant sale!

The sale is from 2 -5 p.m. We'd love to see you all there. Email Caitlin for directions to the location.

Client Progress

By Unknown | At 6:00 AM | Label : , , | 0 Comments
I am making some good progress with one my clients and I wanted to share what we've been working on.

My client and I searched high and low for the perfect chairs for her entryway. She came across these beauties on Craigslist and we knew there was some potential there.

We went over lots and lots of different fabric ideas but when I came across this fabric for only $5.99 a yard at a local fabric store we were sold! We are still pinching ourselves that we got it for such a great deal.

This picture showed up in my email a few days ago and I was giddy with excitement. My client painted the wood white and it makes these chairs look brand new!

Remember this board? Well things are coming along nicely in the bedroom.

My client also emailed me this picture. Her amazing faux suede blue headboard is in and our bench has been reupholstered in one of my very favorite fabrics

The headboard was done by Erin from Plush Studio and the fabulous upholstery job was done by Brian Maxfield. He did such a great job!

Busy Weekend

By Unknown | At 4:00 AM | Label : | 0 Comments

I've been making a few updates on my kitchen over the weekend. I just wanted to show this picture so you could appreciate how much better my new chairs look compared to the old ones.

I spent all week last week painting these chairs from orange to white. I only got four done. I still have four more to go.

But I seriously love how they turned out! Plus do you notice anything else new?

My husband gave me a new backsplash for my birthday! I love it. I have been dreaming of a simple white subway tile backsplash since we moved in.

My cousin installed it for us. I got the subway tile at Home Depot for 25 cents a tile. It is really beautiful. I love how shiny it looks!

There is still a long way to go in this kitchen. I need a new table for sure plus I want to put knobs on all the cabinet doors and drawers. But I'm getting there...

I am sure you remember the amazing home from Dream Book Design I featured. Well I was browsing their blog this week and I just had to share this amazing project.  A dining table made from a vintage drafting table.

Isn't it beautiful! I need some talent like that in my home. I am amazed by their creativity.

Feature Friday: Paiges of Style

By Unknown | At 4:00 AM | Label : , , , , | 0 Comments

Today I am featuring the incredible home of Paige from Paiges of Style. I met Paige back in January at ALT. She is super cute and has such a great eye for design. You would never believe it but they are renters. So it is totally possible to make a rental look good.
Her home is amazing! I am seriously drooling over these pictures.

When asked how to describe her design style she said:

I'd have to say that I like a little bit of everything when it comes to interior design. I'm definitely not traditional, but I love pairs. I'm not modern, but I love clean lines. I love coastal, but I need more contrast than just muted tones. I tend to design around texture and color. Above all, I want my home to look interesting and avoid the catalog look. I want the look to reflect the time I've put into finding the perfect piece.

Enjoy!

I just love that pom pom fringe on the bottom of the skirt.

Isn't her home incredible?

Paige also has a great etsy shop where she sells fun party supplies and invites.

Check out these adorable invitations she made for her daughters birthday. The invite is available in her shop
