Bedroom Inspiration

By Unknown | At 10:51 AM | Label : | 0 Comments

This week I was flipping through a Calico Corners catalog and I came across this colorful room. The sofa fabric immediately reminded me of the feel I'm going for in my bedroom.

According to Calico Corners the fabric is called Mandarin in Summertime. (A). I started googling and it seems this fabric may be discontinued. Does anyone have any ideas?

After almost an hour of google searching I came across a yard remnant of it at The Fabric Finder

So I'm planning on doing a couple of pillows. But I still have yet to find the perfect curtain fabric.

The search is still on....

And then there is the dresser. Plan is to paint it white.

Lots to do!

Feature Friday: August Fields

By Unknown | At 3:00 AM | Label : , , , , , , | 0 Comments
Today I am featuring the amazing home of Sara from the blog August Fields. Here is what she said when I asked her to describe her style:

I find it hard to pinpoint my style into certain decorating terms such as 'farmhouse', 'shabby chic', 'vintage' etc.  I love them all!

I will say though, that I tend to start with a traditional base.  Our home in and of itself is a traditional style, two story home.  very symmetrical and classic.  This goes for interior base as well.  traditional mouldings, grated windows, wood floors and light painted walls.  For large pieces of upholstered furniture I typically have a timeless, traditional piece in a solid color.  From that point on though I love to layer with what I love.  mason jars, thrifted lamps, family photos, books, unique pillows, painted end tables, fancy chandeliers, mirrored end tables.....layers and layers.  I have always loved pairing old with new, fancy with plain.

Please enjoy her beautiful home!

Sara home schools all her kids so of course they needed a room to do it in and what better place than their very own schoolroom!

The floor is too perfect.

The room has a little window to the kitchen so Sara always knows what's going on in the schoolroom.

There is  a place for everything! This is where she hangs her tablecloths.

Oh My Gosh. Love the marble!

Pretty, pretty, pretty.

The knobs are from Restoration Hardware.

Have you ever seen such amazing custom bunk beds!

Each boy has is own little cubby in his bunk.

I hope you enjoyed the tour. To get more great inspiration make sure you check out her blog

Snow and Graham Leftovers

By Unknown | At 3:00 AM | Label : | 0 Comments
Since getting my new Snow and Graham Calendar I've been wondering what to do with my old one. The beautiful designs are just too beautiful to throw away. So I stuck the yellow ones in some frames.

And the rest I turned into cards and gift tags!

Now I have a bunch of beautiful cards for any occasion!

Vacation Inspired Mood Board

By Unknown | At 3:00 AM | Label : , , | 0 Comments

Today I am taking a little vacay with my hubby to sunny California. I am so excited to take a break from the dreaded Utah winter. In honor of my getaway I have put together a beach inspired mood board for you.

Enjoy!

I tried to keep this board budget friendly.
Let's start with the inspiration for the whole thing...

I LOVE this seaside inspired pillow. It's so peaceful and the blues are beautiful. You can find the other pillows here,  here and here

The next purchase would be this rug. It's from World Market and the website says they have it available in a 8 x 10.  While we are at we could pick up this sofa from World Market as well. The Coffee table is a classic and can be found here

This new Z Gallerie Chair is spectacular! I think two of these would bring the perfect "punch" to this room.

And while we are Z Gallerie we could pick up one of these for the coffee table.

Some striped blue curtains would really add the nautical feel we are going for here.
This mirror would be just the finishing touch we need. And it's only $89.99!

Wow, putting that together really did get me excited for my trip. Don't worry I'll be posting from our condo. I'll let you know how it was when I get back!
